Saiful Nang, 35 studied at MPA (UK), B.Sc Media (MMU) and PhD candidate in Marketing, UUM. Currently Saiful Nang is the Executive Chairman and Founder for Colours of Asia Sdn Bhd Group of Companies. He started the whole business in 2004 with on RM90 capital and manage to grow it into a group of companies. In 2005 he put his hand together with another 19 companions to start Rumah Pengasih Warga Prihatin. It's a research centre about Social Civilization & Moral. However, the subject of the research are HUMAN, hence they established an orphanage and underprivileged home to implement what has been taught in the Quran & Sunnah in total. Nothing could go wrong then.
Saiful Nang himself a dyslexic and live with the stigma of "Budak Bodoh" (idiot) in the first 12 years of his age. As nobody interested to be friend with him back then, he spent so much time observing and analyzing unconsciously. That's why you may see that he could talk pretty much anything he saw after analyzing it from taught outside of the box.
From a son of the poor to the royal artist, Asian Youth Ambassador Award recipient and even listed in TOP 10 MALAYSIA Magazine, he is still as what you see humbly in front of you today. With RM30 buck jeans from Tesco and his own company tee arriving with his Mercedes and going to give talk to all of you on how does GIVING MAKE YOU RICHER! An interesting out-of-the box wakaf concept practiced by Abdurrahman Auf and Saidina Abu Bakar Assiddiq but has been forgotten in this world, today.
So since nowadays everyone already knew him a a millionaire at Malaysia, there are story behind his successful. “Failure is an option” is one of the criteria that help him to achieve his goal. There are many story that can impressed us as a reader, so let me begin with the story about the expired bread that help him for the first time become an entrepreneur. Once a long time ago, he came from a poor family, his dad can’t afford to buy for their family a bread that cost the RM 0.70, that time RM 0.70 quiet a large amount, only wealth people can afford it. So, since Saiful and his sibling always watch television that exposed them usually people will take bread for their breakfast, so Saiful and his sibling craving to have the bread for their breakfast. Since, their family cannot afford the price of the bread, his dad bought a bag of bread that already expired only cost them rm1. Although at the bread already has fungus but they do not care, and his mother do not have a choice, she will toast the bread and they will enjoyed the meal. So one day, Saiful have a brilliant idea at that time, since his mother make a lot a toast bread so he decide to bring it to school to sell it to his friend. At that time that was first time he became an entrepreneur, the toast bread cost for RM 2-3 a day but his father only bought the bread that cost him rm1 for the whole week. So at there, we already know that he was born to be a brighter entrepreneur. Since he failure to have a loaf a good quality of bread but he manage to sold toast bread that can give him profit RM2 per day.
So the story right now is about how he influenced to entrepreneur site. But since our topic is “failure is an option”, Saiful Nang got the criteria because of he failed his business when 2002 and 2003, at that time he quiet to do anything. The worst part is he only got rm90 to survive his life. So he start thinking how to start a new life with a new carrier, he said at the moment he just have rm90 but he wanted to have DSLR camera to start a photography business but unfortunately he do not have the sum of money. He had an idea, his befriend wife also crazy about photography but do not know how to use DSLR camera. Saiful said to them lend the camera for one month then he will teach them how to use it properly after he explore the DSLR camera since he got zero knowledge about photography.
Once he got the camera, he advertise his business with rm1000 for wedding photography but since he got no experience before, no body want to hire him as a photographer for their wedding. He keep thinking how to make it happen, so he decide to do photography for one couple for free, since he trust that practise make perfect, after he finished shoot the wedding photograph he as soon as possible upload it at media social. So he do the best decision to upload the picture because other photographers do not do the same way, so the customer must wait for a long time to get their picture. Since that he got many offer and job that change his life. He got rm13000 at the time, with that money he bought DSLR for his business. As a conclusion after that, Saiful Nang life change, he became a great entrepreneur. Moreover, he is one of the millionaire at Malaysia nowadays.
So in short, we can put he as an icon that relate with our topic “failure is an option”, he manage to
wake up from his failure to become such a successful entrepreneur .
